Telangana MBBS 2026–27 Counselling Guide: How to Stay Calm, Choose the Right Medical College & Make the Best Decision
A motivational message for the future doctors who endured the uncertainty, stress and difficult NEET 2026 journey.
🌟 Dear Future Doctors
Today, I want to speak to you not simply about marks, ranks, colleges or counselling. I want to speak to you about something much more important — your state of mind.
The NEET 2026 journey has tested you in ways that few previous batches have experienced. You prepared, waited, faced uncertainty, prepared again, and then had to summon the courage to face another difficult examination.
After more than 40 days of renewed preparation and anxiety, you are now standing at the doorstep of your MBBS journey.
Look back at what you have overcome.
“I did not give up.”

🩺 Your MBBS Journey Has Already Begun
Right now, many students are thinking:
“Will I get a government seat?”
“What will my Telangana rank be?”
“Will I get my preferred college?”
“Should I choose this college or that college?”
“What if I don’t get the college I want?”
These questions are completely natural. But don’t allow counselling anxiety to steal the happiness of what you have already achieved.
You are potentially entering medical school. The next five-and-a-half years can transform you from a student into a doctor.
The college matters. Your rank matters. Your financial circumstances matter. But eventually, the doctor you become will matter far more.
🧘 First Rule: Keep Calm
Don’t continuously check WhatsApp groups. Don’t compare your rank with dozens of other students. Don’t panic every time someone predicts a higher cut-off.
One person will say, “You will definitely get a government seat.” Another will say, “No chance.”
Someone will tell you to take a particular college immediately. Someone else will tell you to wait.
Suddenly, your mind becomes a battlefield.
Breathe.
Think.
Verify.
Then decide.
Counselling is a process. Don’t let rumours control your emotions. Give priority to official counselling information and verified documents.
🧠 Don’t Let One Rank Define You
Your NEET score is a number.
Your rank is a number.
Your college is a name.
But you are much more than a number, rank or college.
One day, years from now, a frightened patient may sit in front of you. That patient will not ask:
They will ask:
And at that moment, your knowledge, compassion, clinical judgement, communication and character will matter.
🤲 Thank the Almighty
Whatever your faith may be, learn to say:
Thank the Almighty for bringing you this far. Thank your parents. Thank your teachers. Thank everyone who supported you during the difficult periods of your preparation.
You can pray:
You know what is best for me.
Give me what is good for my future,
give me strength to accept it,
and guide me towards becoming a good doctor.”
🌙 Tawakkul Means Doing Your Best and Trusting the Outcome
Trusting the Almighty does not mean abandoning effort.

MAKE A WISE DECISION
↓
TRUST THE ALMIGHTY
You cannot control every counselling outcome. But you can control how carefully you prepare your choices and how peacefully you respond to the result.
🌱 Don’t Compare Your Journey With Somebody Else’s
One student may get a government medical college. Another may get a private medical college. Someone may get their first preference. Someone may receive their second preference.
Their journey is not your journey.
If your friend gets a seat before you, be happy for them. Their success does not reduce your worth or your opportunity.
Medicine is not a 100-metre race. It is the beginning of a long professional journey.
❤️ Parents, Please Listen Too
Parents have sacrificed enormously for their children’s education. But this is also the moment when your child needs emotional support.
Please don’t turn counselling into another examination.
Instead, tell your child:
Those words can give a young person enormous strength.
🎯 When Counselling Begins, Become Practical
Once counselling starts, don’t make decisions purely out of fear or pressure. Prepare your preferences carefully.
Consider:
- College and location
- Government or private status
- Tuition and other expenses
- Hostel and accommodation
- Clinical exposure
- Patient load
- Academic environment
- Internship opportunities
- Applicable bonds or service requirements
- Your family’s financial comfort
- Your personal preference and long-term goals
🕊️ What These 40+ Days Have Taught You
Perhaps the greatest lesson of this unusual NEET journey was not biology, chemistry or physics.
It was resilience.
You learned that plans can change. You learned that examinations can become uncertain. You learned that circumstances can change suddenly.
Medicine itself is full of uncertainty. A doctor must remain calm when the family is frightened, think clearly when the situation is chaotic and continue working when things don’t go according to plan.
🌅 Your Real Journey Starts After Admission
Don’t think that everything becomes easy once you get an MBBS seat.
There will be anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, medicine, surgery, clinical postings and examinations.
There will be days when you feel brilliant. There will also be days when you wonder whether you are good enough.
When that happens, remember this moment. Remember how badly you wanted this opportunity. Remember your parents. And remember the Almighty who brought you this far.
🤲 A Prayer for Every Future Doctor
“Almighty, I have worked hard. I have tried my best. I accept that some things are beyond my control.
Give me the wisdom to choose correctly. Give me patience during counselling. Give me peace when I am uncertain.
Bless my parents for everything they have sacrificed.
And if You give me the opportunity to become a doctor, make me a doctor who is knowledgeable, compassionate, ethical and worthy of the trust of my patients.
Alhamdulillah for bringing me this far.
🌟 Dear Future Doctors…
Don’t spend these precious days worrying only about:
Ask yourself something bigger:
The college is the beginning. The degree is the beginning. The white coat is the beginning.
Your real achievement will be the lives you eventually touch.
